Pigfarmer Jr is a talented *cough, cough* musician *cough, cough* who ... okay, really he's just a guy that likes to write songs. Piggie has played guitar in classic rock cover bands and is currently forming an acoustic duo with Travis Allen. Located in Columbia, Missouri, P.J. is currently recording some of his music for an upcoming self released album.
P.J. is participating in SongAWeek.org this year. The challenge is to write and record at least one song every week throughout the year in 2009. So far so good. The very first song, a collaboration with Debs who inspired the challenge, is here:
Catch and Release - January 2009

FAWM is over. I wrote or co-wrote 20 songs. Although two were hardly worthy of the collaboration tag. Still it was fun and I have some new songs. Plus a few are worthy of reviewing and improving. Possibly one or two are pretty much finished. It's a blast and I enjoyed it.
If you liked to take a gander you can click this link. I warn you that the demo quality is very low on some of the songs. It's a writing challenge not a recording challenge:
The album I've been talking about for four or five months is still in the idea stage. Although I have about 18 or 19 songs on the tentative list (with a few more out there in the back of my mind) and would like to cut it down to a nice 14 track disc. I've had offers of help from Helen in London, Hoopshank (Paul) in England, and Mal in St. Joseph, MO. Thank you everyone for the offers I WILL take you up on it as the time approaches.
Do you remember me talking about NoSoAlMo? No? Well the object of that TiSC (Timed Songwriting Challenge) is to write and record an entire album worth of material in the month of Novemember. My recording was not awesome, and several of the songs could use some re-writing, but overall I'm happy with what I did. Mal encouraged me to write a concept album and I did. ""Music is such a pure form of self-expression, and lyrics, because they consist of words, are so impure, and songwriters, even great ones... find that, even though they can produce both, words will always let you down." -Nick Hornby
